Did you know that every drop of water has a big story to tell? This is Wade. He is a small, happy drop of water living in the deep, blue ocean. Today is a very special day for a journey.
The morning sun begins to shine. It feels very warm on Wade’s back. The sun is big and bright. “It is time to go up!” the Sun seems to say. Wade feels lighter and lighter.
Did you know that water can turn into invisible vapor? This is called evaporation. Wade is not a heavy drop anymore. He is floating up into the air like a tiny balloon. Higher and higher he goes!
High in the sky, the air is cool. Wade meets a new friend named Maya. Together, they join many other drops to form a fluffy, white cloud. This part of the story is called condensation.
More and more drops join the cloud. Maya looks around and sees that the cloud is becoming grey and heavy. It is very crowded now. “I think we are going to fall!” Maya says with a laugh.
Splash! The cloud cannot hold the drops anymore. This is precipitation. Wade and Maya hold hands as they tumble down from the sky. They are falling as cool, refreshing rain.
Wade lands softly on a bright green leaf in a forest. He slides down the leaf, feeling the smooth surface. Everything in the forest is thirsty and happy to see the rain.
Wade slides off the leaf and into a small, bubbling stream. There he finds Maya again! They splash over rocks and swirl around branches. The water is moving fast and heading somewhere important.
The stream grows into a wide river, and the river leads back home. Wade finally reaches the edge of the vast, blue ocean. He is back where his journey started, ready for a long rest.
Did you know that the water cycle never stops? Wade and Maya are back in the waves, waiting for the sun to shine again. Tomorrow, they might go on a whole new adventure!
